Winchester, Model 56 Sporter, .22 LONG R. Cal., MFG. 1926-29, SN: 17952, Bolt Action Rifle, 22'' Tapered barrel. The original pistol grip wood stock is excellent, with a several minor scuffs, scratches & contusions to the original finish. The original metal blue finish is excellent, at 95%. There are some nicks near the rear sight blank that have been touched up. Bore is Excellent. Fitted with an adjustable Lyman receiver sight, blank filled rear dovetail & standard front sights. Checkered metal buttplate. ''Winchester'' stamped magazine. Only produced 4 years with approx. 8,297 mfg., but serialized with the model 57 rifles & thus the higher SN than total 56 production. Collectable condition & fairly rare model. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 1000 to 2000
