Holland & Holland, Wildfowling Shotgun, CAL: 4 Bore, MFG: 1800's, SN: 5779, Rotary Underlever Break Action Shotgun, 36'' barrel. The original checkered straight grip wood stock is excellent, having been lightly sanded & refinished. The checkering still protrudes nicely after the light restoration. The stock has a 1'' wood spacer added to the buttstock & small rectangular inlay at the toe. The metal blue finish has been restored, it rates 90% overall. There are a couple areas on the receiver worn to metal grey, with a thin brown patina. The sides of the receiver display simple ''X'' pattern border engraving while the top/upper tang have more intricate ornamental scroll, which can also be seen on the barrel end, around the roll stamp, lower tang, break lever, forend metal components & screws. The trigger guard is shaped in a unique fashion, with an integrated sling provision. The bottom of the barrel holds an original sling provision. Bore is excellent, with striations from use. The barrel holds a single front bead. Has a choked barrel, Stock has a solid orange rubber recoil pad. A rarely seen large bore bird gun by a very reputable gun maker. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 3000 to 6000
