J.P Clabrough & Bros, English Hammer Double, CAL: 20GA, MFG: 1871-1893, SN: 902, Side Lever Break Action Shotgun, 30'' barrels. The original checkered straight grip wood stocks are excellent & solid, having been lightly sanded, with oils added over time. The stocks have contusions, scrapes & dings. There is a blank silver shield name plate inlaid in the belly. The ''Stub Twist'' steel barrels have fully worn to gun metal grey, with areas toned to a brown patina & remnants of the original brown finish towards the muzzle. The receiver has worn to metal grey, with an aged patina. The receiver, hammers, trigger guard & forend metal components & screws are all engraved with a simple ornamental scroll pattern. Bores are excellent & bright. This rifle appears to have started it's life as a 12GA, but since has been re-lined to 20GA, with screw-in Briley Choke Tubes. The solid rib holds a single front bead. Stock carries a smooth metal buttplate. Comes with an additional set of choke tubes, tool, Briley Oil & Warranty booklet. LOP: 13 7/8'', DAH: 3 5/8'', DAC: 2 1/4''.
