Greifelt & Co. Suhl, Sidelock Shotgun, CAL: 12GA, MFG: N/A, SN: 46814, Break Action SxS Shotgun, 30'' barrels. The original highly figured, checkered & capped pistol grip stock is excellent & solid. There are minor contusions, scrapes & dings to the finish. The stocks have had protective oils added over time, contributing to some darker areas. There is a small 2'' crack fill on the left side of the forearm. The silver oval initial plate is marked ''W.P.K''. The metal blue finish on the barrels rates 95% & is a mix of original blue & applied blue. There is handling wear & a couple small areas of pitting that have been touched up. The receiver is case-hardened, retaining faint, but visible case-colors. The entirety of the receiver, along with barrel ends, break lever, trigger guard, forend release lever & screws are all beautifully hand engraved with ornamental scroll work. Bores are excellent & bright. The solid rib holds a single front bead. Stock carries a ventilated brown rubber recoil pad. Double triggers. Greifelt & Co used to be a major German gunmaker. Founded in 1885 in Suhl, the company went under in 1945 at the end of WWII. They were well known for producing high class shotguns & rifles.* FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 3000 to 6000
