Parker Bros, Grade 2, CAL: 12GA, MFG: 1889, SN: 57822, Break Action SxS Shotgun, 30'' barrels. The original, checkered, capped pistol grip stock & forend are very good & solid. The checkering has worn smooth from years of use & there are scratches, scrapes & dings to the original finish. Protective oils were most likely added over time & it has contributed to some darkening of the wood. There is a blank silver shield initial plate on the belly of the stock. The damascus thumbprint pattern on the barrels is clear, with areas of metal grey peering through the thinned browned finish. The receiver is case-hardened, with little to no remnants of case-colors remaining. The vast majority of the receiver has worn to metal grey, with a thin brown patina coverage. The receiver, break lever, trigger guard & forend metal components all display simple decorative engraving, with small game scenes on the sides & a vignette on the bottom. Bores are excellent, with visible light wear. The solid, matted rib holds a single front bead. Stock carries a worn Parker Bros dog head checkered buttplate. An all original Parker shotgun.
