RARE John M. Olin Collection, Winchester, Model 1200 DELUXE, 20 GA., MFG. 1964-65, SN:169639, Pump Action Shotgun, 2 3/4'', WS-1 choke. 26'' Vented rib barrel. This shotgun comes with a copy of a letter from Eugene F. Williams Jr., executer of the Jon M. Olin estate, which lists the guns that were the personal property of the late John M. Olin. The letter states the guns were housed & used as hunting guns on the Family's Nilo Plantation since their manufacture or time of purchase by Mr. Olin, or the purchase of the Nilo Plantation in 1955. This shotgun is the 5th gun on the list. This gun features Special Order XXX walnut, straight grip stocks, with wraparound deluxe checkering. The stocks were specifically made to Mr. Olin's desired shape & dimensions, which is evident by the very narrow wrist dimension, curvature of the lower wrist into the belly & the initial oval in the belly of the stock with Mr. Olin's initials ''JMO''. Note that standard Model 1200's had pistol grip stocks. The stocks display fantastic scalloped & fire grain, with crisp checkering & excellent factory finish. The factory metal blue finish is 97% on receiver, 99% on barrel & tube. Bore is excellent. Front & mid rib sight bead. 14'' LOP over custom leather wrapped recoil pad. Comes with a laminated 14''x4 1/2'' Winchester/ Western yellow sign which was part of a previous display, which states its from ''The John M. Olin Nilo Collection''. A finely crafted, excellent original condition & custom 1200, with wonderful prominence & ownership. Very collectable gun.* FFL Req. - Value: 2000 to 4000
