BOXED Winchester, Model 12 TRAP GRADE 4, 12 GA., MFG. early 1979, SN:Y2027281, Pump Action Shotgun, 2 3/4'', Full choke. 30'' Vented rib barrel. This shotgun was one of the last 480 guns (sometimes referred to as the Y-Series clean-up guns). Winchester coordinated with Jaquay's guns of Findlay Ohio & Guns Unlimited of Omaha to sell these last model 12's. Winchester contracted with Italian master engravers to engrave & upgrade these fine firearms. Just the receivers were sent to Italy where the work was done before being assembled in the U.S.. This Pigeon Grade 4 Trap gun is an excellent example of this coordination & extremely rare as one of the last 480 Model 12 shotguns produced. The deluxe checkered ''Monte Carlo'' wood stocks are excellent & solid, with a nearly flawless finish. The stock has a couple of tiny natural grain flaws, which were addressed with a bit of fill before factory finish. The stock has wonderful rippled grain. The receiver carries hand engraving of two hunting dogs on left side, four mallards on right, with scroll accents. Metal blue finish is 99% on receiver, 97% on barrel & tube, with some oxidization & discoloration under the rib. Plum toning blue on the Pigeon engraved mag extension. Bore is mint. Front & mid rib sight bead. 14 3/8'' LOP over Winchester ventilated recoil pad. The box end label indicates TRAP GUN (Monte Carlo Stock) with computer generated SN label. Top label indicates ''12 GR 4 TRAP''. Condition of box is excellent with cardboard dividers. A finely engraved & high condition, example of the last of the model 12 guns. Very collectable gun.
