RARE Winchester, Model 12 SUPER GRADE FIELD, Sometimes referred to by collectors as ''deluxe skeets'', CAL: 16 GA, MFG: 1956, SN: 1708551, Pump Action Shotgun, Choke: WS-!, 2 3/4'', 28'' Ventilated rib barrel. These Model 12 Super Grades were only produced from 1955-59 & have become very collectable, especially in 16 & 20 ga examples. The factory deluxe checkered & metal capped pistol grip wood stocks are excellent, with fabulous flame & ripple patterned grain. There stock of a deep rich tone, with virtually no handling marks to the excellent original finish. The original metal blue finish rates 98% overall. The left side of the barrel is marked ''WINCHESTER / TRADE MARK / MADE IN U.S.A.'', ''-MODEL 12 - 16 GA.- 2 3/4 CHAM. / -WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL- / WS-1''. The barrel to the left of the rib & the top of the receiver at the front each have an oval ''WP'' proof. The bottom of the receiver & barrel extension are marked with the SN. Bore is excellent. The rib carries a mid bead & single front red bead. Buttstock carries a Winchester plastic buttplate. 14'' LOP. 50% premiums paid for 16 ga examples.
