Kokura Arsenal, Model Type 99, Cal: 7.7x58mm, MFG: 1939-45, S/N: 89940, 24th Serial block, 25 3/4'' Barrel. The military semi-pistol grip wood stock is good, stock & upper handguard has been cut down and shaped, stock has nicks, digs, dents, & wear from use/age, ''56'' marked in white paint on left side of stock right behind rear sling mount. The metal finish rates 60% overall with spots of rust, wear, & scratches. Left side of receiver is marked with S/N, & Arsenal mark, top of receiver has a intact chrysanthemum, & ''Type 99'' in Japanese, S/N mismatched bolt. Bore is good, clean & bright with thinned rifling. Barley corn front sight, Aperture ladder rear sight marked 3 to 15. Metal buttplate with light wear/ side sling swivels. This rifle has had the stock cut down but the barrel appears to have been not cut, with the chrysanthemum being intact this would make a nice rifle to un-sporterized. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 100 to 250
