DWM, Argentino 1891 Engineers Carbine, CAL: 7.65x53mm, MFG: 1899, S/N: C2951, Bolt action rifle, 17 3/4'' barrel, The straight wrist wood stock is good, stock appears to have been sanded, replaced toe with wooden dowel securing. The metal on the barrel rates 60% with light scratches & areas worn gray near receiver, Receiver metal finish rates 20% with blue remaining in protected areas. Left side of the receiver is marked with proof marks, ''MAUSER MODELO ARGENTINO 1891'', ''DEUTSCHE WAFFEN-UND MUNITIONSFABRIKEN.'', top of receiver is marked with the Argentine coat of arms, right side of receiver is marked with S/N & importer marks, top of barrel has a proof mark, right side of barrel is marked with S/N, S/N matched bolt, magazine & barrel. Bore is very good, clean & bright with lightly thinned rifling. Barleycorn front sight with protective wings, V-notch ladder rear sight marked 4 to 14, metal buttplate with light patina. Side sling mounts. This rifle was originally made as a cavalry carbine, but in the early 1930's it was converted to a engineers carbine by adding a bayonet lug and side sling swivels, comes with leather sling.
