Mauser (byf), Model: K98K, Cal: 7.92x57mm, MFG: 1941, S/N: 4294b, bolt action rifle, 23 1/2'' barrel/ The semi-pistol grip wood stock is very good with light nicks, dings, dents, & wear from use/age, S/N stamped into left side of stock by buttplate, firing pin disassembly disc through rear of stock. The metal finish on the barrel rates 90% with light scratches, the metal finish on the receiver rates 85% with light scratches & one spot of lightly worn bluing. Left side of receiver is marked with a Waffenamt proof mark, S/N, & ''Mod.98'', top of receiver is marked ''byf'', ''y'', ''41'', right side of receiver is marked with proof marks, left side of barrel is marked with Waffenamt proof mark & S/N, right side of barrel is marked, ''40 Do3 3 9'', end of barrel is stamped with importer marks, S/N matched Barrel, bolt, follower, & stock, S/N mismatched front barrel band, magazine floor plate & trigger guard. Bore is very good, bright, strong rifling with roughness. Barleycorn front sight with protective hood, tangent V-notch rear sight marked 1 to 20. Metal cupped buttplate that was left in the white from factory & is marked, ''dwc'', missing cleaning rod, comes with period correct leather sling. A excellent example of a early war K98K. FFL or C&R Req - Value: 800 to 1600
