CASED Colt, Fontier Scout, Golden Spike Commemorative, CAL: .22 LR, MFG: 1969, SN: 1605GS. Single Action Revolver, 6'' barrel. Made by Colt in 1969 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the joining of the two sides of the Transcontinental Railroad. The Transcontinental Railroad ran from Sacramento to Omaha, finally connecting the West to the Mid-West & allowing both people & cargo to travel between the two without the need for a difficult, & often perilous, journey by wagon. This is a limited edition Colt Frontier Scout revolver. The left of the barrel is marked ''COLT SINGLE ACTION FRONTIER SCOUT .22 L.R.''. The top of the barrel is marked ''COLTS PT. FA. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.''. The right of the barrel is marked ''1869-GOLDEN SPIKE-1969''. The barrel markings are gold-filled. The left of the frame is marked with a rampant colt in circle. The bottom of the frame, forward of the grip frame, is marked ''1605GS''. The left of the trigger guard is marked ''2''. The butt of the grip frame has scroll engraving. The original, Rampant Colt gold medallion wood grips are excellent, but with a glue repaired corner chip on the right grip. The factory metal blue, black & gold finishes rate 97%, with a couple of spots of storage haze to the gold. Bore is excellent & bright. The barrel holds a blade front sight. The revolver comes with a Colt presentation case with scenes from the joining of the two rail lines, a replica golden spike & a green velvet lined interior. Also comes with the original Colt book paperback book ''The Golden Spike'', which tells the story of the Transcontinental Railroad. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 800 to 1500
