BOXED, Colt, Model Python, CAL: .357 Magnum, MFG: 1981, SN: K61809, Double Action Revolver, 4'' barrel. The Colt Python was introduced as a premium model in 1955, in caliber .357 Magnum. The Python is built on the large I-frame & has a reputation for accuracy, smooth trigger pull, & a tight cylinder lock-up. It has a 6-shot swing-out cylinder & was available in Python blue, Royal blue, Python nickel & Python stainless steel finishes. Some firearm collectors & writers have described the Python as ''the finest production revolver ever made''. It has a wide serrated target hammer, ventilated rib, & fully adjustable target quality rear sights. The left side of barrel is stamped ''PYTHON 357 * .357 MAGNUM CTG * ''. The checkered Pachmayr Presentation grips on this example are near mint. The high polish nickeled finish is near mint. Bore is mint. The satin finished top of the ventilated rib barrel holds a screw height adjusting ''U'' notch rear sight & front blade sight, with the red insert. This gun comes in a reproduction Colt wood grain box. Highly collectible in this condition & desirable in nickeled variation. FFL Req. - Value: 2000 to 3000
