Savage, Model 99, marked 250-3000 SAVAGE Cal., MFG: 1950, SN: 550031, Lever Action Rifle, 24'' Tapered round barrel, The factory checkered & capped pistol grip wood stocks are very good & solid. The stock does have a 3'' tightly glued & nicely repaired crack that emanates from the rear tang & drops into the checkering on the right side of wrist. There several small & minor handling marks, scratches & contusions, but the checkering remains very good & the stocks' appearance is very nice. The metal blue finish on the barrel rates 80%, with spotty areas of loss. The receiver has worn mostly gun metal gray. The lever is gray with tiny remains of case-coloring. Fitted with a folding rear sight & bladed front sight on ramp. Top of receiver has four open holes from previous scope mounting. Bore is excellent & bright. The stock carries a serrated metal buttplate. Sling swivels. Action is smooth & tight. Rifle displays well & should be a great hunting rifle. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
