Savage, Model 99, CAL: 250-3000, MFG: 1956, SN: 776361, Lever Action Rifle, 22'' round barrel. The original checkered & capped pistol grip wood stocks are very good & solid, despite large crack repairs & having been sanded & refinished. The stock has a 9'' tight crack repair that runs from the toe to the pistol grip on the right side & another tight 4'' crack repair from comb through to the checkering in the wood. After the repairs, the stock was thinned & reshaped along the belly & comb, especially to the right side. It was then sanded & nicely refinished. There are very few handling marks remaining to the current finish & overall appearance is excellent. The metal blue finish is a combination of original finish & applied finish, with 95% coverage on the barrel, 50% on the receiver. The case-hardened lever has faded mostly gun metal gray. Bore is excellent. The barrel holds an adjustable rear sight & ramp elevated blade front sight. Grooved metal buttplate. Sling studs. Great overall appearance. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 300 to 600
