BOXED Browning, Model 1886 Limited Edition MONTANA CENTENNIAL High Grade Rifle, marked 45-70 GOVT., MFG. 1989, SN: 01269MT1889, Lever Action Rifle, 26'' Octagon barrel, Full mag. Patterned after the general specifications of the Winchester 1886 & produced on the 100 year anniversary of Montana's statehood on November 8, 1889. This is rifle 1269 of only 2000 produced. The rifle is essentially new. The left side of the barrel is marked ''BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q. / MADE IN JAPAN'' & ''.45-70 GOVT''. The top tang is marked ''BROWNING MODEL 1886''. The right side of the barrel is marked ''BROWNING MODEL 1886 CALIBER .45-70 GOVT'' & has an ''NP'' proof at the rear. The left side of the receiver has engraving that features a game scene of a gold buffalo within the outline of Montana, banners that read ''1889'' & ''1989'' in gold, & the Montana state seal with gold accents. The left side of the receiver is signed by engraver ''T. NAKA''. The right side of the receiver is marked with a game scene with a gold bear, banners that read ''MONTANA 1889 1989'' & ''ONE OF 2000'', & is also marked with the SN. The checkered high grade walnut stocks are virtually mint. The french gray steel receiver with all the aforementioned engraving is excellent. Retains fully 100% of factory blue on all surfaces. Bore is Mint, Crescent metal buttplate. White diamond semi buckhorn rear & standard front sight. Comes in the original SN matching box, with the styro packaging, hang tag & a Montana Centennial postage stamp. A fantastic looking limited edition collectible rifle that is essentially new in the box. FFL Req. - Value: 2000 to 3000
