Peter Small, Rook Rifle, CAL: .300 Rook, MFG: N/A, SN: 66236, Side Lever Break Action Single Shot Rifle, 26'' octagon barrel, Partially Matted. The barrel flat is marked ''P.SMALL.28 PILGRIM ST NEW CASTLE ON TYNE''. The original checkered & capped pistol grip stocks, with ebony forend tip, are excellent, having been professionally restored. There is a blank oval nameplate on the belly. There are minor contusions & handling marks to the excellent finish. The original metal blue finish on the barrel rates 85%, with the edges showing loss. The case-hardened receiver & pistol grip cap still display vivid case-colors, while other areas have faded to metal gray. Fantastic scroll & accent hand engraving found on receiver back of barrel, trigger guard, pistol grip & small medallion inlaid into forend. Bore is excellent, but with light intermittent spotting amongst strong rifling. The barrel holds a 3-tier folding leaf rear sight & a blade front sight. Manufactured without a buttplate, but with serrated buttend. Comes with a full box of .300 Rook 90gr Ld FL PT ammunition.* FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 2000 to 3000
