Custom Rifle, Mauser Model 1917, CAL: .224, MFG: N/A, SN: 24220, Bolt Action Rifle, 26'' barrel. No caliber marking. The fantastic Birdseye Maple stock is excellent, with some darkened grain lines mostly seen on right side of forend & a tight 1/2'' hairline crack coming off the upper tang. The stainless steel heavy barrel is excellent, as left in white, with some minor spotting. The military finish on the receiver rates 80%, with some touch-up on the back block. The SN can be seen on the left side of the receiver, a small ''1065'' stamped on the left side of the barrel, a Waffenamt over ''6421'' above the magazine well & a ''7978'' on the floor plate. The underside of the barrel is stamped with the SN ''24220'', ''CAL THURSTON'', ''CJG'' & ''3 27 72'', but no caliber marking. Bore is excellent. There are no open sight provisions. The receiver holds a set of Redfield scope rings. Stock carries a Pachmayr basket weave solid recoil pad. A sharp looking custom built rifle. FFL Req. - Value: 300 to 600
