Harrington & Richardson, Model 65 H&R Reising, CAL: 22 LR, MFG: 1944-46, SN: 5849, Semi Auto Rifle, 23'' barrel. The Reising Model 65 is a blowback operated semi-automatic rifle designed to emulate the weight & sight picture of the U.S. M1 Garand Rifle, and was used by the United States Marine Corps as a training weapon. The original flat pistol grip stock is excellent & solid, having been repaired & refinished. There is a 4'' repair at the toe & the screw holes on the sides of the stock were filled during the refinish process. There are minor scrapes 7 dings to the applied finish. The reblued barrel & receiver rates 85% overall. Bore is excellent & minty. The barrel is marked with the H&R Worchester address, ahead of the caliber marking, a ''D'' at the breech end of the barrel, the model designation on the top of the receiver & the full SN on the left side, ahead of the side mounted sight. The receiver holds the original Redfield aperture sight & the barrel has the correct winged blade front sight. Sling studs present. Stock carries a checkered black plastic buttplate. Original marked 10 rnd mag. Although not in original condition, a neat military contract training rifle. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 400 to 800
