RARE & BOXED Winchester, Model 69, FACTORY SCOPED, .22 SHORT, LONG & LONG RIFLE Cal., MFG: 1935-63, SN None, Box magazine, bolt action rifle, 25'' round barrel, Model 69 rifles are not in & of themselves rare, but a factory telescoped & factory peep sight example in high collectors condition & in the original factory box, with label confirming factory configuration of scope & peep, is exceptionally rare!! The original flat pistol grip factory stock & original finish is excellent, with a few finish level scratches & a few small contusions. The original metal blue finish is 98% overall. Factory mounted with a Winchester No. 5, Five Power Telescope, on Winchester raised & open scope rings. This allows for the alternative use of the factory mounted receiver peep sight & hooded front ramp sight. Bore is excellent. Black plastic Winchester buttplate. Has the side push button mag release, with the original, correct & rare ''Winchester'' & ''69'' marked magazine. Comes in the original early production brown factory box, with beige Top & end labels, with red & blue lettering. This rifle was originally a 1937 Christmas gift to a father from his children. The box carries two Christmas label on the top of the box, one of which has a hand written note which reads ''From: your only son and his sister, For: a true friend when on the ''warpath'' take this and our best wishes.'' Box contains padded paper wrap, & an envelope dated Dec 25 1937 which contains a trimmed original Model 69 brochure & a very rare original instruction sheet for Telescoped Sight, which was only added to the box at the factory when rifles carried original factory scopes. No serial number written on label which is correct for non-serialized gun. Box is very good, but with a few broken corners, tears, tape, & tattering to edges. Very desirable & extremely collectible in this rare special ordered configuration, high condition & with its correctly labeled original box.* FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 5000 to 10000
