Stevens, Model 416 U.S Training Rifle, CAL: 22LR, MFG: 1941-43, SN: 202620, Bolt Action Rifle, 26'' barrel. This gun was part of a 10,000 rifle contract that the United States military ordered for use in basic firearms training. It's marked ''U.S. Property'' on the left side of the receiver along with a Flaming Bomb. The original flat pistol grip target stock is excellent & solid, with minor contusions, scrapes & light staining. The original metal blue finish rates 95% overall. Bore is excellent & minty. The receiver holds the original side mounted fully adjustable rear aperture sight & the barrel holds the original hooded post front sight. There are factory scope bases on the receiver & barrel. The left side of the receiver is tapped & drilled, with (2) open screw holes. Sling sloops. Stock has a grooved metal buttplate. Original detachable magazine. A seldom seen WWII U.S training rifle. FFL ort C&R Req. - Value: 400 to 800
