E. James & Co, Muzzleloader Shotgun, CAL: 10GA, MFG: 1880-89, SN: NSN, Percussion Muzzleloading SxS Shotgun, 33 1/4'' barrels. The rib is stamped '' E. JAMES & CO LOVEDAY ST BIRM''. The original, checkered round knob wood stock is very good, having been sanded & refinished. There is a crack repair on the left side of the wrist, below the sidelock, along with contusions & dings. There is also a blank silver shield name plate on the belly of the stock. The metal finish on the barrels has fully toned to a brown patina. The side locks, hammers & upper tang are all engraved in an ornamental scroll pattern. There are two small strips of silver inlay at the breech end of the barrels, as well as an engraved silver inlaid disc on the side of each barrel. Bores are good, rough with intermittent pitting. The solid rib holds a worn brass bead. Stock carries a smooth metal widows peak buttplate. Ram rod present. Replaced nipples. Black Powder Only. LOP: 14 1/8''.
