William Moore & Co, Underlever Shotgun, CAL: 8GA, MFG: 1884-89, SN: 1057 (on lower rib of barrel), Underlever Break Action Shotgun, 35 5/8'' Belgian Real Twist barrels. ''Wm. MOORE & Co.'' was a trade name used predominantly by the Belgian gun manufacturer Henri Pieper, who sold these shotguns to various American importers & hardware companies. The original, checkered round knob stock is good. The stock has been sanded & refinished. There are a few cracks between the upper tang & side plates, an edge chip at the heel, alongside contusions, scratches & scrapes. The twisted steel barrels have toned to a brown patina. The solid rib is stamped ''GEO STADSTAD''. Bores are very good, with intermittent roughness & striations. The solid rib holds a flattened brass bead. Stock carries a smooth metal widows peak buttplate. Notice: Twisted barrels are not safe to shoot smokeless powder or steel shot out of. LOP: 14 1/4''. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 1000 to 2000
