Santa FE. Model: 1903A3. CAL: 30-06. MFG: 1950's-72, S/N: 5002740, Bolt action rifle, 24'' Round barrel. The Semi-Pistol grip Type C stock is very good, near excellent, with light nicks, dings, dents, scratches, & wear from use & age. The parkerized metal finish on the barrel rates 90%, the parkerized metal finish on receiver rates 85% with spots of gun metal gray. Top front of receiver is marked ''CAL. 30-06'', ''SANTA FE'', ''MODEL 1903A3'', S/N. Top of barrel by the muzzle is marked, ''R. A'', Flaming bomb, ''8-44''. Bottom of barrel is marked ''P''. Bore is Near excellent, Bright & mirror like with one small spot of roughness, 2 groove rifling. Blade front sight with hooded protecter, aperture windage & elevation adjustable rear sight, marked on top ''2'' to ''8''. Steel trapdoor Butt plate, has wear. Action is tight and functions smooth. Bottom sling swivels. This rifle is a combination of original GI parts with a New production CAST receiver made by Santa FE later in the 50's through the early 70's, with the receiver being cast and no milled, & it being the locking component for the bolt we DO NOT recommend shooting this rifle until having it inspected by a licensed gunsmith, they have a history of blowing up when firing hot loads because they are cast & not milled like the originals, this would be a nice parts rifle since everything else is original production parts.
