DESIRABLE & ENGRAVED, Colt, 3rd Model Dragoon, CAL: .44, MFG: 1853 SN: 13579, Single Action Revolver, 7 1/2'' barrel. Colt only produced 10,500 of these pistols from 1851-61, with the serial number range being from 10,200 - 19,600. This particular example carries all matching serial numbers. The wood grips are very good, as having been sanded & refinished leaving the metal proud to the wood. They display minor contusions & handling marks. The metal finish has worn to a mix of metal gray & brown patina. The brass trigger guard/grip has been polished & cleaned, with a thin aged patina. The frame, barrel housing, backstrap & trigger guard/grip all display fantastic custom, ornamental scroll hand engraving. The cylinder displays the Texas Ranger & Indian fight scene. Bore is excellent. Barrel has brass blade front sight. A rarely seen Dragoon & one with strong eye appeal. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 7500 to 15000
