Webley, Mark V, CAL: 45 ACP, MFG: 1914, SN: 138192, Double Action Revolver, 4'' barrel. Of the six standard Webley service revolvers adopted between 1887 & 1915, Webley made fewer Mark V revolvers than any other model. Collectors consider them among the rarest in original form. Webley Mk V revolvers were manufactured between 1913-15 & appear in a serial number range between 129,900-215,000. The original checkered plastic grips are very good & solid. There are contusions, scrapes & areas of checkering that appear ground or buffed, resulting in areas of smooth checkering & slight indentations. The original metal blue finish rates 85%, with areas worn to metal grey, with a thin brown patina. Bore is excellent, with light roughness throughout. The barrel holds an elevated blade front sight. Lanyard stud & loop are replaced. These pistols were robust & powerful weapons, which gave excellent service to the British military services until it was eventually replaced by the handier Enfield No 2 revolver in 1932. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 1500 to 2500
