Hopkins & Allen, Model XL No. 5, CAL: 38, MFG: 1879-1900, SN: 3342, Single Action Revolver, 2 1/2'' barrel. The wood grips are very good. There are minor contusions, scrapes & dings. The original nickel finish rates 50%, with areas worn to metal & toned to a brown patina. Top of frame marked, ''HOPKINS & ALLEN MFG. CO.'', ''XL.NO 5'', ''PAT. MAR. 26. 1871 APR. 27. 1875''. Right bottom of barrel marked, ''3342''. Bore is fair, with intermittent pitting amongst strong rifling. The frame has a small notch groove & the barrel has a modified blade front sight. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 200 to 350
