USMC, WW2 Hospital Corps Bolo Knife, Made by a village blacksmith, left side of blade is marked ''U.S.M.C.'', ''VILLAGE BLACKSMITH'', blade has light rust & patina mostly from age & being bare steel, These bolo knife were originally made as utility knife for use in clearing brush, making splints, stretchers, & light construction, but with the close quarters of the jungles & the Japanese ambush/surprise tactics, they were used & heavily relied upon by many marines to defend themselves, with the blade being over 1/4'' thick in places I could only imagine the damage one of these things can do, these would have also came with a leather sheath but it is missing. Grade: Very Good + - Value: 100 to 300
