Japanese, M1899 Type 32 NCO Saber, ''KO'' First pattern, left side of blade is marked ''2173'', front of guard is marked with Tokyo arsenal stamp, & Japanese markings, both markings on guard are worn, scabbard is marked ''23950'', blade has very minor gray patina in spots, checkering on wood grips is heavily worn, This is a Cavalry NCO saber indicated by having the longer of the two patterns blade, & is a earlier production 1900-1910's with it having the leather finger strap on the inside of the guard, The scabbard is mismatched to the sword which is common, when there were sent to the armorer to be sharpened the scabbards were not matched to sword when sent back so they got mixed around a lot. Grade: Excellent - Value: 100 to 300
