US, .60 Cal T80 Cartridge on link, for the experimental T17E3 Machine gun, cartridge has holed drilled on side & missing primer, H/S: ''S L 45'', This gun & cartridge was originally designed to replace the Browning .50 Cal M2 in Combat Aircraft, it was reversed engineered from a German MG151 Cannon, after testing the Airforce found that twin Mounted .50 Cal's performed better, were easier to supply, and required less room and weight for ammunition than the .60 Cal so it was abandoned, Case & link have light rust & patina. Grade: Very Good + - Value: 30 to 60
