RARE SEMI DELUXE Winchester, Model 1894 Saddle Ring Carbine, CAL: 32-40, MFG: 1900, SN: 87891, Lever Action Carbine, 20'' Tapered round barrel & half mag. The semi-deluxe checkered & capped pistol grip walnut wood stocks are very good & solid, although well used. There are numerous tiny to medium scratches, scrapes & contusions to both pieces of furniture. They display the remains of the original finish which has worn thin & wood has darkened from oils over 120+ years of use. The basic ''I'' pattern checkering is smoothing with wear & use, but the full patterns & cut line remain although very thin in areas. The original metal blue finish rates 50% on barrel, with areas of thinning toning to a brown patina. The receiver has worn or been polished to a gun metal gray, leaving polish marks & pitting, along with some remnants of original blue in protected areas. The case-hardened lever & hammer have worn & faded away nearly all the case-colors. Bore is good, with areas of pitting & roughness amongst solid rifling. The barrel holds a flip-up rear ladder sight & carbine block blade front sight. Buttstock carries a smooth carbine metal buttplate. Original saddle ring. Smooth tight action.
