Marlin, Model 1895SS .45/70 GOV'T Cal. MFG. Modern, SN: 10019171, Lever Action Rifle, 22'' Round barrel, 2/3rds mag. The 1895 S was introduced with a cross bolt safety in 1984 & the model changed with the addition of a second ''S'' making it a 1895 SS. The original capped pistol grip wood stocks are excellent & solid, having nearly all of the original finish & only a few handling marks or contusions. The original metal blue finish is 98%. Barrel mounted with factory adjustable rear & hooded front sights. The top & side of the receiver is factory tapped with provisions for scope & receiver sight mounting. Receiver mounted hammer-blocking safety. The Micro-Grooved bore is excellent. The stock mounted with a Marlin factory solid recoil pad. Factory sling studs. Tight action. An excellent modern lever rifle set up & popular as a large bore hunting rifle. FFL Req. - Value: 600 to 1000
