Winchester, Model 70, CAL: 338 WIN MAGNUM, MFG: 1961, SN: 520090, Bolt Action Rifle, 25'' barrel. Desired pre-64. The original, checkered & flat pistol grip Monte Carlo stock is very good. An attempt to retrace the checkering was done long ago & the stocks received an added thin layer of finish over the remaining original finish. There are numerous light handling marks, scratches & contusions, with some thinning & haze to the finish. The original metal blue finishes rate 95% overall. Bore is very good. The receiver carries scope blocks, while the barrel has an open rear dovetail & a hooded front ramp sight. Stock carries a Winchester solid recoil pad. Factory sling loop. The 338 Win Mag caliber is one of the more desirable calibers amongst collectors & premiums are typically paid for examples which still present well like this example.
