Custom Winchester, Model 70 XTR SPORTER, CAL: 338 GIBBS, MFG: Modern, SN: G1773364, Bolt Action Rifle, 24'' tapered round barrel. This rifle left the factory as a 30-06 as indicated on the barrel roll stamp, but has been professionally rebored to 338 Gibbs & is now thus marked on the left side of the barrel. The factory cheeked, checkered & capped pistol grip walnut Monte carlo stock is excellent, with sharp checkering. There are very few handling rubs to the original finish, along with a few tiny spots of a hardened black substance. The original metal blue finish rates 98% overall. Bore is excellent. Jeweled bolt, with matching hand etched SN. The rifle is fitted with a Pentex Lightseeker 2x-8x scope, while the barrel no longer carries open sights, but the provisions have filler screws. The buttstock carries a Sorbocoil recoil pad. Sling studs. An overall excellent custom caliber rifle. FFL Req. - Value: 800 to 1200
