Remington Model 721, CAL: 458 Win Mag, MFG: 1948-61, SN: 331849, Bolt Action Rifle, 23'' Custom barrel. The original cheeked, checkered & flat pistol grip Monte Carlo wood stock is excellent, with ebony forend tip & pistol grip cap. There are several small handling marks, scratches & contusions to the original high gloss finish. There is a 1/3'' circle of wood filler on each side of the stock in the area where to barrel screws into the receiver. The reason or need for this is unknown, but may be attributed to the upgrade to the larger caliber, but they are not distracting to the appearance of the stock. The metal blue finish rates 95% on the replaced barrel. The original metal blue finish on the receiver rates 95%, with additional wear on the floorplate & trigger guard. The barrel carries an elevated adjustable rear sight & ramp elevated blade front sight. Bore is excellent. Buttstock carries a Remington ventilated recoil pad. Sling swivels. A overall excellent big bore hunting rifle. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 600 to 1200
