S&W, Model 1500, CAL: 7MM REM MAG, MFG: 1982-84, SN: PN15776, Bolt Action Rifle, 24'' Tapered steel barrel. Smith & Wesson, one of the largest handgun companies in the world, no longer makes a rifle. In 1984, the company discontinued production on all long guns, including the Model 1500 rifle. Rifles & shotguns were made for S&W by Howa Machinery, Ltd., Japan. This model's production run lasted for only two years & it has now become a collector's item. The original skip-line checkered, cheeked & capped pistol grip walnut stock is excellent. There are a half dozen minor scuffs scraps or scratches to the original finish. Some minor finish chipping around pistol grip cap. The metal blue finish rates 97% overall, with the majority of wear located at the muzzle end of the barrel. Bore is excellent. The receiver carries a Leupold Vari-XII 3X9 scope on Redfield blocks, with no provision for open sights on the barrel. Stock carries the factory S&W marked ventilated recoil pad. Whiteline spacers on buttpad & pistol grip cap. Sling studs. Jeweled bolt. A quality deer hunting rifle. FFL Req. - Value: 800 to 1500
