CUSTOM FN, Model 24 Mexican Bench Rifle, CAL: 260 REM, MFG: 1926-27, SN: 1799, Bolt Action Rifle, 24'' Bull barrel. Custom rifle made on a FN made Mauser action which was part of the Mexican contract for 3500 rifles. The custom checkered & capped pistol grip Monte Carlo walnut stock is excellent, with few handling marks to the excellent original finish. It displays wonderful rippled grain on the lower portion of the stock & a contrasting wood forend tip & pistol grip cap. The high luster metal reblue finish on the receiver, floorplate & trigger guard rates 95%, while the custom barrel is left in the white, likely stainless steel. No markings on barrel except caliber. Bore is excellent. The receiver has the Mexican eagle crest on the bridge & there are three open holes from a scope being removed. There are no provisions for open sights. Jeweled bolt. Buttstock carries a widow's peak, checkered metal buttplate. Sling studs have been removed. A very sharp looking & nicely configured custom Mauser bench rifle. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
