Remington, Model 81, marked .35 Rem Cal., MFG. 1939, SN: 8606, Semi-auto take-down rifle, 22'' barrel, 5 shot fixed magazine. The original factory flat knob pistol grip stock & beavertail forearm are very good, as having been sanded & reoiled. The metal is proud to the wood at the wrist, with some small scrapes, scratches & contusions remaining. The metal blue finish is a refinish retained at 90% on both barrel & receiver. Factory metal buttplate, Bore is excellent. Receiver mounted with a Redfield receiver sight, while the barrel carries a folding rear & standard front sights. Tight action. Vintage compass inlaid into comb near buttplate, with stamped ''N,S,E,W'' letters around the exterior representing direction. Sling swivels mounted in wood carry a period leather sling.
