RARE Winchester, Model 1897 FACTORY CASED TWO BARREL SET, 12 Ga., MFG. 1905, SN: 282244, Take-down, second variation, Two barrel Pump Action Shotgun, 32'' Full & 24'' Cyl barrels, with SN's matching. Standard length barrels were 30'' Field & 26'' Bush, so these two 32'' & 24'' barrels were special order. The original round knob pistol grip wood stocks are excellent & solid, however the toe has a large 3'' missing toe break. The stocks show very few minor scratches, or contusions to the excellent original finish. The original metal blue finishes rate, 95% on both barrels, 90% on the receiver. Bores are excellent, bright & shiny. Single front beads. Stock carries a Winchester widow's peak checkered metal buttplate. Shotgun & barrels come stored in the original two barrel mutton leg leather carry case, which is stamped on one of the leather straps ''97'', ''24'', & ''32''. Unfortunately, the seam around part of the lid & the hinge have come unstitched & need repair. Also comes with a three piece wood cleaning rod. Comes with a Cody Winchester Factory Records Letter confirming configuration & dates. This is a very nice special order set, with case & letter. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 1000 to 2000
