Remington. Model: 03-A3. CAL: 30-06. MFG: 1942 (First Year Production), S/N: 4190363, Bolt action rifle, 23 1/2'' Round barrel. The Straight wrist walnut type S stock is very good, with light scratches, dings, & wear from use/age, ''P'' in circle cartouche on bottom of wrist, ''8'' in circle ''4'' in diamond ''5'' in triangle & ''11'' in square cartouches in bottom of stock Infront of magazine, ''S.S.A.A'' in box, ''FJA'' in box, & crossed cannons, cartouches in left side of stock above trigger, The S.S.A.A. mark stand for the San Antonio Arsenal where it was re-built/ re-furbished, the FJA mark is a Inspection mark for LT. Col. Frank J. Atwood, who was the Army Executive Officer in charge of Ordnance Procurement in the Rochester Ordnance District from 1942-46. The parkerized metal finish on the barrel rates 90%, the parkerized metal finish on receiver rates 80% with light wear in areas. Top front of receiver is marked, ''U.S.'', ''REMINGTON'', ''MODEL 03-A3'', & S/N. Top of barrel by the muzzle is marked, ''R. A'', Flaming bomb, ''9-43''. Bottom of barrel is marked ''P''. Bore is very good, bright with minor wear from use, Correct 2 groove rifling for date of barrel. Blade front sight, aperture windage & elevation adjustable rear sight, marked on top ''2'' to ''8''. Steel trapdoor Butt plate. Bottom sling swivels with stacking swivel. A excellent example of the classic 03-A3 Rifle. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 700 to 1400
