Springfield Armory. Model: M1 Garand. Cal: 30-06. MFG: 1942. S/N: 815665. Semi-auto Rifle. 24'' barrel. The semi-pistol grip walnut stock is very good, with light nicks, dings, scratches, & wear from use/age, original finish is heavily worn & stock has darkened from oiling/age, ''103'' marked on top of upper handguard by receiver, 1'' tight hairline crack on upper handguard from receiver to bottom of ''0'' of the ''103'' mark, ''90'' marked on top & bottom of rear of stock, worn ''P'' inside circle cartouche on bottom of pistol grip, two heavily worn cartouches on left side of stock above trigger. The barrel & receiver black parkerized finish rates 85%, with some light scratches & wear. Rear of receiver is marked, ''U.S. RIFLE'', ''CAL. .30M1'', ''SPRINGFIELD ARMORY'', S/N. Right side barrel is stamped ''S-A-8-42''. Bore is very good, bright with light/minor wear, Front sight blade, with protective wings. Windage & elevation adjustable aperture rear sight. Checkered steel trapdoor Butt plate, has small spots of wear/rust. Bottom sling swivels with stacking swivel, comes with tan canvas sling, a excellent example of a early war M1 Garand with its likely original barrel. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 1200 to 2400
