Inland DIV, Model M1 Carbine, Cal: .30 Carbine, MFG: 1942, S/N: 85711, Semi-auto rifle, 18'' barrel. The Semi-pistol grip Early Type 1 stock is very good with light scratches, dings & wear from use/age, stock has darkened from oil/age, faint Springfield arsenal crossed cannons crest on right side of stock on the cheekn faint ''P'' in circle stamp in bottom of pistol grip, ''OI'', & flaming bomb marked inside sling well. The grey parkerized metal finish rates 55% on the barrel with wear & spots of patina, & 75% on the receiver with wear & areas of rust speckling. Rear of receiver is marked with ''INLAND DIV'', & S/N, front of receiver is marked ''U.S. CARBINE'', ''CAL .30M1'' top of barrel is marked 'INLAND MFG. DIV.'', ''GENERAL MOTORS'', ''11-42''. Bore is good, bright & clean bore with worn but still present rifling. Blade front sight with protective wings, has the original 2 position flip up aperture rear sight. Checkered steel butt plate. Side sling mounts. Missing the oiler bottle. The rifle has the original push through safety. Rifle comes with one 15 Rd. mag. A rare all original condition M1 carbine as it left the factory, that has not seen any updates or re-arsenals, that's still in pretty good condition, a certainly rare find.
