Remington, Model Rolling block, Cal: .43 Spanish, MFG: 1870-80's, S/N: 1848, Rolling block single shot, 28'' barrel. The two piece straight wrist sock is good with scratches, dings, & wear frame use/age, two cracks on stock on eon left side by receiver & on by lower tang, ''48'' marked on bottom of stock. The metal has toned to a brown patina with areas of gray metal, S/N is marked twice on left side of frame under stock, no other markings on the rifle. Bore is very good, bright with some roughness. Barrel holds a barleycorn on block front sight with a stepped tangent/ladder wide V-notch rear sight marked 1 to 4 on base & 5 to 11 on ladder. Stock carries a steel butt plate that has cleaned pitting & patina. On sling loop on trigger guard. Has cleaning rod. Antique No FFL Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
