ROF Fazakerley, Model: No. 5 MK1 Jungle Carbine, Cal: .303 British, MFG: 1945, S/N: R5809, Bolt action rifle, 20 1/2'' barrel. The semi-pistol grip wood stock is very good with light nicks, dings, gouges, scratches, & wear from use/age, proof cartouches on bottom of stock Infront of magazine, on bottom of stock on wrist & by bottom of stock by butt plate. The original metal finish on these rifles was blued then coated with Suncorite which is a bake on finish, The finish rates 90% overall with light wear & scratches. Left side of receiver is marked ''NO5MK1ROF(f)'', ''9/45'', & S/N, top of receiver is marked with one proof stamp, left side of wrist band is marked ''ENGLAND'', top of barrel is marked with proofing stamps. S/N matched Bolt. Bore is very good, bright, strong rifling with light roughness. Barrel holds a blade front sight with protective wings, has a flip up ladder aperture rear sight marked 3 to 8 on ladder. Stock carries a steel/rubber butt plate/pad, rear sling loop attached to butt plate. Side/bottom sling loops. One of the rarer & more interesting versions of the SMLE rifle.
