Carl Gustafs Stads Gevarsfaktori, Model: Gevar M1941B, Cal: 6.5x55mm, MFG: 1912, S/N: 306151, Bolt action rifle, 29 1/4'' barrel. The straight wrist wood stock is very good with light nicks, dings, scratches & stains, brass bore/info disc embedded into right cheek of stock, four small screw holes from where a brass trajectory range plate was removed. Three crown proofs on bottom of wrist. The blued metal finish rates 95% on the receiver & 85% on barrel with some light rust & thinning. Top of receiver is marked with a crown over a Swedish latter, ''''CARL GUSTAFS STADS GEVARSFAKTORI'', ''1912'', left side of the pined in scope mount is marked with S/N, scope mount is marked with S/N, & ''72''. S/N matched bolt, scope mount, barrel bands, & butt plate. Bore is excellent, bright & mirror like with strong rifling, has only a few small spots of light roughness. Barrel holds a wide wedge front sight with add on hood, rear sight is the updated SM Sikte F-ram sight for the newer boat tail ''Torped'' ammunition, sight is dated 1955, rear sight is a twist knob U-notch marked 1 to 6, rifle also has the original AJACK 490 scope, scope is marked on the knob base ''Nn1683/1941B''. stock carries a steel butt plate, has patina & cleaned pitting. Bottom sling loops. Has cleaning rod. Comes with original scope carrying case & orginal scope lens cover. In 1941 Sweden adopted a sniper rifle for its military & for the sniper rifles they would take the best shooting M1896 rifles they had & would drill & tap the receiver & mount a scope, & then add a bent bolt handle so they could actually cycle the rifle, this new rifle would be designated the M1941. Then in 1955 the Swedish Government refurbished all the snipers they still had in inventory to a new pattern the M1941 B where they changed the rear iron sight, & fixed a few quality of life issues with the scope mounts like adding the S/N to the side, adding stop screws to prevent over tightening, & peening in the locking screws on the mount, they also got rid of the older M/44 telescopic sight if it had it & made sure all rifles had the AJACK 4x90 scope. Overall a really nice condition Swedish sniper rifle from WW2. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 2000 to 4000
