Hood Firearms Co., Hard Pan 2, CAL: .32 RF, MFG: 1875-79, SN: 1566, Single Action Revolver, 2 5/8'' barrel. The birdshead wood grips are good & solid. The grips fit loosely to the frame & there are contusions, dings & areas of darkening. The nickel finish rates 60% on the barrel & 20% on the frame. There is consistent roughness & pitting on the frame, toned to a brown patina. Bore is poor, consistently rough. Small blade front sight. Cylinder freely rotates at both cock, appears to function, but timing is off. The Hood Fire Arms Company was formed by Freeman W. Hood in Norwich. Mr. Hood was an inventor & expert gunsmith. In the short time they were in business, the Hood Firearms factory produced several lines of revolvers that were based on his patents. They were all rim fire, five-shot cylinders, with several barrel lengths, all had spur triggers, a solid frame & walnut grips. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 100 to 200
