Iver Johnson, Safety Automatic 2nd Model, CAL: .38, MFG: 1896-1908, SN: 82504, Double Action Revolver, 4'' barrel. The Owl's head carved & checkered hard rubber grips are very good. There is overall wear to the grips, with scrapes, dings & the checkering is beginning to wear smooth. The original nickel finish rates 10% on the barrel & 60% on the frame, with areas worn to metal gray & toned to a brown patina. Boor is good, with roughness & intermittent pitting. Groove & blade sights. Cylinder spins freely, but locks up tight when hammer is cocked. This model was used with blackpowder cartridges, not safe to shoot smokeless powder loads. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 100 to 300
