Essex Arms/Colt, Model of 1911 U.S Army, CAL: 45 ACP, MFG: 1970's-90's, SN: 77614, Semi Auto Pistol, 5'' barrel. This gun is built with a Essex Arms frame & original Colt 1911 slide. Essex never made complete firearms, they manufactured surplus firearms parts. Essex got their start in the 1911 business during WWII, building replacement frames & slides for government arsenal rebuilds for returned or battle damaged 1911's. After the war they continued to make the frames & slides. The replacement checkered plastic grips are excellent. The metal blue finish on the original Colt slide rates 85%. The frame is parkerized & shows little wear. Bore is excellent. Factory 1911 fixed sights. FFL Req. - Value: 600 to 1200
