RARE and in amazing condition!!! Forrest Maker Kelso spey salmon rod. He was Scotland's most recognizes fly rod make in the mid 19th century. In 1895 with this same style rod Alexander Grant made a spey cast of 65 yards in calm conditions which was a world record until bested in 2005 by a modern graphite rod with PVC line. The rod is made of Scotland's Greenheart wood and heavy brass. It has one butt, two mid sections and three tips. Assembled length is 15 feet. The butt is 64 1/2'', midsections are 60 3/4'', tips are 59 1/2''. Every eye and wrap is excellent. The brass fittings are perfect with wonderful patina. The rod has three Ferrule plugs and original rod bag. Grade: Excellent ++ - Value: 300 to 2000
