WONDERFUL Winchester, Model 1886 Deluxe, CAL: 40-82 WCF, MFG: 1891 (Antique), SN: 61664, Lever Action Rifle, 26'' Octagon barrel, Full mag. This Special Order Rifle has been partially & professionally restored. Mounted with fantastic, XX center crotch, rippled & feathered grain American walnut, with ''H'' style checkering. Serpentine pistol grip stock with the ebony inlay in the pistol grip & a Winchester metal widow's peak, shotgun style buttplate. The stocks are excellent, as professionally refinished. There are very few tiny handling marks remaining, with excellent original checkering. There is a tiny 1/8'' toe chip repair that presents well & flows nicely with the natural grain pattern. The professionally restored metal blue finish on the barrel & mag rates 98%, with some thinning of the original barrel stamps during barrel preparation. The restored blue matches original Winchester blue & is very well done. The sliding bolt retains a full 90% of the original bright blue, while the loading gate rates 95%. The receiver, lever, hammer, forend cap & buttplate are all case-hardened, having toned mostly gray, with outlines of old case-colors & some actual colors left in more protected areas of the receiver. The left side of the lower tang, under the wood, is stamped with the assembly number ''248'' & ''SXX'' for shotgun butt & XX grade wood. The upper tang channel in the stock is stamped with the same ''248'' assembly number. The underside of the buttplate is likewise stamped with the ''248'' & ''S'' for shotgun butt. The rifle is fitted with a Lyman tall stem flip-up tang sight, while the barrel carries a Marble's blank filled rear dovetail & original blade front sight. Bore is excellent. This Special Order deluxe rifle presents extremely well & remains very collectible as an early case-colored 1886.* Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 7000 to 12000
